On final passage of H.R. 1346 — the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act, which allows year-round sales of E15 (15% ethanol) gasoline — the House passed the bill 218–203, and both parties split.
90 Republicans voted Nay, against the 122 in their own party who voted Yea. 95 Democrats crossed the other way to vote Yea, alongside one independent.
It cleared the House on May 13, 2026 and now moves to the Senate.
On the final reading of the 2026 Social Security budget (PLFSS 2026), the Assemblée nationale adopted the government's text 247–232, with an unusually high 90 abstentions.
The presidential bloc (Ensemble pour la République), the Socialists, the centrist Démocrates and LIOT voted for; the Rassemblement National, La France insoumise, UDR and the communist GDR voted against.
The 90 abstentions came mostly from Les Républicains, the Écologistes and Horizons. It was promulgated as Loi n° 2025-1403 on December 30, 2025.
The Council passed Int. 0055-2026 by 44–6. It requires the city to post multilingual 'know-your-rights' signage about immigration enforcement on city property and in schools.
Sponsored by Council Member Tiffany Cabán with 67 cosponsors, it has cleared the Council and now awaits the Mayor's signature.
